The Lee Westwood Golf Tour is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership which will see the LWGT players compete to win places on the Jamega Pro Tour and the Jamega Pro Ladies Tour.
The Jamega
Pro Tour established in 2004 as a player-led Professional Golf
Tour, to bring openness and fairness to the world of developmental golf tours
has sponsored 24 starts in its events for LWGT players to compete for. Jamega
has grown and developed on the philosophy of producing the right grounding and
experience to benefit a future European Tour Player and this same ethos is
shared by Lee Westwood Golf across its School, Tour and Camps brand providing a
great fit for this new partnership.
The Lee Westwood Golf Tour manager Stuart
said “I see the Jamega Pro Tour as a fantastic
step towards a career as a tour player, it is a logical step for our young up
and coming LWGT players to get the experience playing with and against
professional golfers all striving for a full time playing career”
Lee Westwood’s stable mate at ISM David Howell said "The
Jamega Pro Golf Tour helped to run my inaugural Charity Golf Day. The day was a
huge success, due in no small part to the professional and friendly manner in
which Jamega organised the day. Having spoken to many of the guys who have
played on the Jamega Pro Golf Tour they are equally as impressed. I would say
that it's a great Tour to start your professional tournament career on.”
What better stepping stone is there for a want to be tour
professional? The LWGT running its second year of competition is always looking
for opportunities to help benefit its talented young golfers. This year will
see Lee Westwood attend the National finals; with the winner getting the
opportunity to visit Lee’s School in Florida, and provides a fantastic
opportunity for the best players to experience a professional tour event, what
more could you ask for!
